END-POINT ASSESSMENT FOR
FLOORLAYING APPRENTICES

Independent, impartial EPA delivered by a registered End-Point Assessor with 26 years of industry experience.

What is EPA?

End-Point Assessment (EPA) is the final, independent assessment at the end of an apprenticeship. It tests whether apprentices have achieved full occupational competence against the apprenticeship standard. It is completely separate from the apprenticeship training itself. Delivering EPA independently ensures that every apprentice gets a fair, impartial, and robust assessment of their skills before they are certified as qualified tradespeople.

The Standard

The Floorlaying Apprenticeship Standard covers resilient and textile floor coverings. The End-Point Assessment rigorously tests knowledge, skills, and behaviours through:

  • On-Site Observation

Practical assessment of live flooring installation skills.

  • Portfolio Review

Evaluation of the apprentice's collected work evidence.

  • Professional Discussion

A structured conversation exploring industry knowledge and understanding.
